- Brecht started this Epic musical out as an adaptation of William Shakespeare's play MEASURE FOR MEASURE (however this is almost unrecognizable in the final version). Brecht also "borrowed" the character of a prostitute named Nanna from Emile Zola. The play was first produced in Copenhagen. The complete score has never been recorded commercially.
