- Notes
- "Mon Homme" is a French popular song which was a hit for Mistinguett (Joan Florentine Bourgeois) which she recorded in 1920. It was introduced in the United States by Irene Bordoni. The American adaptation was intended for Mistinguett's American debut in ZIEGFELD FOLLIES OF 1921 but she did not appear in the show and the song was performed instead by Fanny Brice. Ms. Brice sang the song in her talking picture debut, the 1929 film, MY MAN. It was later used in the two Fanny Brice film biographies, the 1939 film, ROSE OF WASHINGTON SQUARE (sung by Alice Faye), and the 1968 film, FUNNY GIRL (sung by Barbra Streisand) where it replaced "The Music That Makes Me Dance" from the original stage production.
