At the time or this original release EMI/Columbia in the U.K. had ties with the American Columbia label. Rather than re-record Mary Martin's solo numbers (and the male chorus numbers) EMI simply recycled the Broadway recordings for this set. (See * next to the song title in the list below)

By the mid-1950s the association between EMI and American Columbia was disolved, so subsequent issues have had an incomplete song program.
