Notes
These five (12-inch) 78's made up the original London cast recording of SHOW BOAT. A 6th record of Paul Robeson singing "Ol' Man River" backed by The Mississippi Chorus singing "In Dahomey" was recorded, but not issued because of Robeson's competing recording for U.S. Victor. Instead, the original release used understudy Norris Smith's recording of "Ol' Man River" backed by a medley of vocal gems by The Mississippi Chorus.

In 1976 EMI assembled the un-released versions of "Ol' Man River" and "In Dahomey" along with records 9427, 9428 an 9429 and portions of the vocal gems from the B side of 9426 as the "original London cast recording" of SHOW BOAT. Their release did not include Norris Smith's performance "Ol' Man River." (It is also the source of Prism's CD.) The 2-sided orchestral medley was not included.
