The afternoon concert (Disc 1) took place at the open-air stage in Golden Gate International Exposition Federal Plaza on Treasure Island in San Francisco on Tuesday September 24, 1940. The evening concert (Discs 2-4) was held indoors at the California Coliseum on the same day. Features performances by 25 famous songwriters and the San Francisco Symphony. These concerts were transcribed for radio but not broadcast.
