This recording is already listed under "The Great Waltz." From the liner notes for the 2005 CD reissue: "Walzer aus Wein" opened in Vienna in 1930. Book and lyrics by A.M. Willner, Heinz Reichert, and Ernst Marischka. Music by Johann Strauss I and Johann Strauss II. Music arranged by Erich Wolfgang Korngold and Julius Bittner. It was then produced in London in 1931 as "Waltzes from Vienna." English book by Caswell Garth, lyrics by Desmond Carter, with additional music by Josef Strauss. In 1934, it was produced on Broadway as "The Great Waltz." New book by Moss Hart, revisions to the music by Frank Tours, and new orchestrations by Robert Russell Bennett. The Wright and Forrest version, heard on the 1965 Capitol LP/DRG CD, and the 1970 British Columbia LP, is a further revision of the original 1930 Vienna operetta. But the 1934 British Gaumont film, "Waltzes from Vienna," is not. The Hitchcock film used other Strauss music to create its own score because the theatrical score was under copyright.
