Show Boat - 1953 Studio Cast

I wish this recording was playable online. John Tyers was my father's first cousin but they never met - living half a world apart. It's only through family history research that it has come to light that he was a performer. My Dad would really like to listen to this music featuring John Tyers and his wife Helena Bliss. Dad is now 94 and loves music. I'd love him to be able to hear this cast recording.

Once there, if you scroll down on the right, you will see a long list of names in alphabetical order by first name. Scroll down till you get to John Tyers. Click on his name. You will be taken to a new page. Once there, scroll down till you get to where it says "12 comments." This is under the cover for Mademoiselle Modiste from the same RCA Show Times series of recordings. Click on "12 comments." In the first comment, there is a url that you can copy and paste.

If you go to that page, you can download three of the RCA Show Time recordings: Show Boat, The Cat and the Fiddle, and Mademoiselle Modiste in one download. Inside the downloaded folder, you will see several folders. There are actually two different transfers of the Show Boat recording there. One is labeled slower. It's hard to know which of them is at the correct speed, but the one that is not labeled slower has better audio quality.
