אירמה לה דוס - 1971 Israeli Cast

I’m not sure the comments on this recording are accurate. The cartoon cover version does in fact seem to be the 1962 version. There are certainly sections with French peppered in. The second version posted below has a cover with two actors on the cover. My thought is that this might be the 70s production with VERY 70s orchestrations. Can anyone verify this?

You are correct. The first line of title text on the photographic cover is אירמה לה דוק or Irma La Douce. The second is מיפן which Google initially translates as "From Japan" but if you back translate "From Jaffa" you get מיפו which is the same character string.

Hebrew Wikipedia has the following information:

- In 1962 , the musical was staged at the Habima Theatre in the translation of Haim Hefer and Dan Ben Amutz , directed by Avraham Nino and with Eric Einstein as the actor and the actresses/singers Dina Doron , Gaola Noni and Sara Aman as Irma. Shlomo Bar-Shavit , Yehuda Efroni , Shai Danon and others also played in this production.

- In 1971 , the musical was staged, produced by Avraham Dasha (Fashnel), called "Irma La Dos Mifos" (אירמה לה דוס מיפו) starring Gadi Yagil and Rivka Zahar.

- In 1987 , the musical was staged in a large-scale production on the stage of the Cultural Center, directed by Tsadi Sarfati with Hana Leslau as Irma and Moshe Becker as Nestor.

- In 2001, the Haifa Theater staged the musical , directed by Roni Niño and with a set by Svetlana Berger , with Rama Messinger and Danny Stegg in the lead roles.

I have added the 1971 recording as a separate entry and corrected the 1962 entry. Thanks for flagging this!
