Due to artistic disputes with MGM, Mario Lanza was replaced as the star of The Student Prince; however, his pre-recorded vocals were used for the soundtrack in 1954 and RCA Victor released soundtrack and studio re-recreated highlights on LP; it became the first million-seller soundtrack album. Lanza re-recorded "The Student Prince" in stereo for RCA in 1959.
