- In 1961, between April 5th and the 10th, [i]Mary Poppins[/i] author P.L. Travers, songwriters Richard and Robert Sherman, and screenwriter Don DiGradi discussed the very first outline of the proposed Mary Poppins film and played the first drafts of several songs. After these series of meeting concluded, Mrs, Travers gave the go ahead to do the film. These recordings inspired the film
