This compilation included the first releases of three tracks that had been left off initial releases of Sondheim Broadway cast recordings: "There Won't Be Trumpets" from Anyone Can Whistle, "Night Waltz II" from A Little Night Music, and "It's a Hit" from Merrily We Roll Along

LP and Cassette releases include 3 tracks not on later releases: "Your Eyes Are Blue" & "Silly People" from Marry Me a Little and "Welcome to Kanagawa" from Pacific Overtures.
