By Jeeves - 1996 London Cast

Andrew Lloyd Webber is never a superb subject-chooser. After collaborating with Tim Rice for "Jesus Christ Superstar", this legendary composer teamed up with lyricst-writer Alan Ayckbourn to write a musical called "Jeeves", which flopped disastrously and drive him back to Tim Rice's arms. Andrew Lloyd Webber seldom give up his finished projects. About some 20 years later he revised the musical with the original writer and hence "By Jeeves" is out. This musical is not 'big' at all, and follow the long line of traditional British musical comedy. There are hummable tunes and delightful lyrics good enough to make it through broadway - and flop there. Mentionworthy tracks of this CD include the joyous "Travel Happily", chorus "Love's Maze", bouncy and jolly "By Jeeves", romantic "Half a Moment" and crazily funny "It's a Pig". This show served as the odd one out, but still got its charm
